Objective of the Course
 
1. To train the manpower as a Community Health needs of society.
2. To develop consciousness for understanding scientific process of Community Health.
3. To develop the ability as a community Health worker.
4. To develop skills of Community Health worker
5. To understand the ones own health in a community.
6. To create awareness about NGO’s & Go’s working for Community Health.
7. To create interest in learners so as to develop the organizations for community Health in untouched areas.
8. To develop the knowledge of social workers so further they can circulate in community for Community Health.

Eligibility for admission :
 
H.S.C. or equivalent exam. pass
Basically this course is designed for those candidates who have interest in Community Health field but due to unfavorable socio economic condition and lack of opportunity were not able to take the admission to regular course
 
Intake :
 
Admission capacity of this course will be 50 for each batch (Maximum).

Minimum Staff :
 
Staff pattern for this certificates course will not be appointed separately, but visiting and guest lecturer will be arranged as per requirement. One course co-ordinator will be appointed from the regular faculty of the college for the overall co-ordination of the course. Non -teaching work load of this course will managed by the regular non- teaching staff of the college.
 
Mode of Examination
 
A) Theory Paper (2x100) = 200 marks
B) Practical / field work, Seminar = 100 marks
Total = 300 marks
 
Written Examination :
 
There will be two theory subjects of 100 marks each paper during the course. Written examination for each paper will be conducted by the college by the end of the every course period.
 
Heads of the Passing :
 
The following shall be separate heads of the passing
A) Written theory papers – 40 marks (each paper)
B) Field work – 50 marks
Failure in any one of the above heads shall be considered failure at the certificate course
 

Assessment of Course :

 
Assessment of the students should be done by examination and observation of overall performance in field work and allotted assignment during the course period. Written examination will be conducted after the end of each course which will be tentatively during the month of May for every batch. Paper setting, assessment and other related work will be done by the nominated committee. The examination will be conducted on the syllabus of the each theory paper for 80 marks written exam and remaining 20 marks will be for the internal assessment of the candidate for each paper. The CGPA system will be followed for the assessment as per the NMU guidelines.
 
Field Work Assessment :
 
After the completion of theory paper, all students placed in various agencies for the practical learning through observation, dialogue and participation. This placement will be for 10 days of working days continually ( total 100 hrs. ). Assessment of this field work will be done by the field work agency supervisor as well as faculty supervisor from the college.
Field work evaluation shall be based on, 10 days placement, role play, class room seminars, case study presentation and Vive- Voce.
Submission of Case study report related to Community Health.
